Psychodrama helps lawyers go beyond mere facts of a case, to bring their client’s story and experience to life, uncover greater details, and help them better prepare for trial.  By using psychodrama tools in the courtroom – from voir dire to closing arguments – juries can feel the story, rather than just hearing about it, which can better assist in achieving justice for clients.

In this weekend workshop for lawyers, we will focus on psychodrama skill building for trial prep and trial, and topics will include:

  • Discovering the story
  • Building your skills: Doubling, role reversal, interviewing, scene setting, soliloquy
  • Role Training your client for deposition and testimony
  • Understanding fight, flight and freeze to more effectively work with your client
  • Grounding and resourcing clients so they are better able to stay present for trial prep and trial

Limited to 20 participants, so please register early!

COVID POLICY:
Due to the on-going Covid-19 epidemic, participants are asked to bring rapid Covid tests each day of the training.  Please either arrive with ample time in advance of group to take the test before we start, or take the test prior to arriving and bring it with you to prove you are negative. If anyone either tests positive for Covid-19 or has illness symptoms, we ask that you not return for the remainder of the training and a credit will be given towards a future training for time missed.

If there is reason to believe it is a false positive (which studies show are rare), you can get a PCR test and may be allowed to return to the workshop with:

a negative test
no symptoms
a willingness to wear a medical grade mask (N-95, KN-95, KF-94, or surgical)
other group participants feel comfortable with this

General mask requirements for the workshop will be dependent on local ordinance and communicated prior to group.  When attending an Action Institute of California training, you accept responsibility if you contract Covid and release Action Institute of California from liability.
