Healing Shame Using Action
Shame forms over time due to emotional injuries that occur during our developmental process, and can impact every area of our lives. Because shame is a foundational wound, and lies at the core of all dis-ease, it can inhibit our capacity to engage in healthy relationships – including our relationship with ourselves – and be very challenging to fully heal.
Because psychodrama works on all levels – emotional, somatic and spiritual – it allow us to tap into what words alone can’t capture, leading to deeper healing. Through role training – we can have a felt sense of new beliefs and behaviors, leading to long lasting change.
In this didactic and experiential training, participants will be taught the origins of shame, from a psychodramatic developmental process perspective, and learn specific somatic and action based techniques and tools – such as sociometry and psychodrama – that can help us eradicate shame, set clear boundaries and develop a healthier sense of self.
