Building Self-Compassion Using Action
Trauma impacts every aspect of us, and can lead to an inability to grant ourselves grace. Through the use of the Circles of Triumph exercise, created by Kelley Hattox, and the Circles of Grace exercise, created by Bill Coleman, participants will be able to explore the sources of trauma that impacted them in their childhood, as well as the defenses they developed – both as children, and as adults – that have helped them cope.
In addition, by asking the question of, “How would I like to do it differently moving forward?” participants will have the opportunity, using sociometry and psychodrama, to explore and step into new roles, new responses, new beliefs and new behaviors that they can carry out into the world in their own lives. In addition, participants will leave this weekend with specific, actionable tools and techniques that they can take directly back to their work, to help their clients on their healing journey moving forward.
