Lexigram of Values

Lexigrams (words) of Values allow you to explore them in action, rather than just talking about them. After laying the Values out on the floor (including an option for “other”), you provide participants a prompt (see 2 examples below), and invite them to physically place themselves next to the word(s) that best represents their response. You can then invite them to share in clusters, and then share out loud with the group. (Note: these can also be used in individual, couples, family, classroom and organizational meetings.)

Rather than just sitting and talking, lexigrams drive momentum in the warm up, and help participants clarify their internal experience. Utilizing lexigrams can be especially helpful with those who have difficulty identifying their Values by providing clear examples.

Examples of lexigram prompts for Values are: “Go stand by the Value that you’re most tapping into at this stage of your life” or “Go stand by the Value that you utilize most often in your professional life.”
