Clients often report feeling “crazy” or “completely overwhelmed” due to the thoughts, sensations and behaviors they are experiencing, as a result of their trauma. By viewing their dysregulation through the lens of Polyvagal Theory, clients can be reassured that what is happening is normal, and it can help both clinician and client gain clarity about the brilliance of the body’s defensive system, and help chart a healing path moving forward.
Join us for this 2 hour didactic and experiential virtual training – for Helping Professionals only – where you learn the model of Polyvagal Theory – created by Dr. Stephen Porges – understand both the mobilization and activation aspects of the sympathetic nervous system, as well as the “brake” and “emergency brake” aspects of the parasympathetic nervous system. You will learn action-based techniques to help your clients normalize what is happening in their bodies and minds, and develop effective tools to help them regulate their nervous systems.
