Training & Workshop Details

In our work with clients, we helping professionals strive to help them stay within their window of presence, while also working with them to expand their nervous system capacity.   Despite all our training, we often miss the subtle somatic signs and symptoms of dysregulation.

Being a Body-Wise Practitioner means increasing somatic attunement and awareness in the therapeutic process – in the client and in ourselves – to alleviate the potential to override what their and our nervous systems are capable of at any given moment.  Without this awareness, clients are often in their heads, or dissociated, and can’t fully integrate the healing that is being offered in our work together.

In this didactic and experiential workshop, you will learn the fine art of pendulation, how to better recognize the subtle signs of nervous system shut down or override in your clients, and the signs of nervous system expansion.  In addition, you will learn tools to bring clients out of freeze back into their healing window, as you navigate their trauma resolution.

Participants will:
– Be able to identify subtle signs of dysregulation – in clients and in themselves
– Be offered specific somatic tools to help clients – and themselves – stay present in their bodies
– Understand the importance of working within the Window of Presence to titrate affect and cognition
– Tune into their own somatic responses when working with clients, and use those therapeutically
