Role Training for Recovery
ROLE TRAINING FOR RECOVERY
Perfectionism in eating disorder clients often gets in their way of stepping into new roles and behaviors during their lives. Understanding the 3-part process described in JL Moreno’s Role Theory allows us to provide more patience to our clients and to teach them self-compassion on their journey. In this didactic and experiential FREE presentation, participants will experience the dynamics of role theory through action, allowing them to bring effective tools directly back to their clinical practice and their own lives.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify 2 benefits of understanding the process of role training
2. Identify 2 components of the “role” of an eating disordered individual
3. Identify 2 action techniques to help clients shift to the role of a recovering individual
