EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT EXTENDED TO AUGUST 31ST – REGISTER NOW!

In this 4-day Training Group, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of using the 12-Steps in Action, working with recovering clients, motivating “resistant” clients, and attending to the body when helping clients heal from addiction, codependency and trauma.  Group members will be trained in sociometry, psychodrama and group psychotherapy, be taught specific action techniques that they can use in their work.  Together, we will create a safe and supportive environment to work through issues of countertransference, to pursue personal work and to student direct.

*Recovery can be from addiction(s) to substances, food, relationships, sex, debting, etc.  Participants MUST have at least 2 years of continuous recovery and be actively working a 12-Step program (meetings, step work, sponsor, service, etc) in order to participate.

2016 DATES AND TIMES:

September 16-19, 2016*
9:30 am – 5:00 pm each day

LOCATION:  Mission San Luis Rey Retreat Center, 4050 Mission Avenue, Pablo Tac Hall, Oceanside, CA

FEE:  $600 per unit*, if registered and paid 1 month by August 31st $675 thereafter
There is a $10 charge per group for CEUs for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, CAADAC, CET or Psychodrama.

*Please note that if the group so desires, we may meet more than once:  this decision will be made through group consensus and a 2017 date will be agreed upon.  Credit card payments and payment plans are available.

Course meets the qualifications for 29.0 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.  Provider #123417.  Provider approved by CCAPP-EI, Provider Number 2N-10-135-0218 for 29.0 CEH’S.  29.0 CEHs available for CET and Psychodrama.

Ongoing Educational Goals For This Training Group:

  1. Participants will learn effective sociometric interventions they can use in their own clinical work.
  2. Participants will learn effective psychodramatic techniques they can use in their own clinical work
  3. Participants will learn the basic structure of warm up, action and sharing in a psychodrama session
  4. Participants will learn important ethical considerations in the use of both sociometry and psychodrama.
  5. Participatns will learn the applicability of using of action methods is in the treament of addiction.
  6. Participants will learn the applicability of using of action methods in the treatment of codependency.
  7. Participants will learn the Stages of Change model for use in addiction treatment, and learn sociometric and psychodramatic interventions that are helpful in each stage.
  8. Participants will learn the modality of the 12-Steps in Action.
  9. Participants will gain deeper insight into their potential counter-transference triggers.

Ongoing Educational Objectives For This Training Group:

  1. Participants will be able to identify 3 appropriate sociometric interventions they can use with their clients for engagement.
  2. Participants will identify 1 psychodramatic technique that would be appropriate to use with their clients for engagement.
  3. Participants will be able to name all 3 components of the triadic system of psychodrama.
  4. Participants will be able to name 2 clinical tools they can use to help maintain ethics and safety in their clinical practice while utilizing action methods.
  5. Participants will be able to name each stage in the Stages of Change model for use in addiction treatment.
  6. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 sociometric intervention for each stage of change.
  7. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 psychodramatic intervention for each stage of change.
  8. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 sociometric intervention for the treatment of codependency.
  9. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 psychodramatic intervention for the treatment of codependency.
  10. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 sociometric intervention to be used when working with the 12-Steps in Action.
  11. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 psychodramatic intervention to be used when working with the 12-Steps in Action.
  12. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 archtypal patient that potentially triggers their own counter-transference issues.
