When addiction invades a family, it’s traumatic for everyone. How is it, then, that some family members transform from that experience and come out the other side thriving, flourishing and surpassing the person they were before while some stay stuck in their wounds? This is the difference between post-traumatic stress and post-traumatic growth: the answer lies in the power of resilience and in making meaning of the experience. In this didactic and experiential workshop, using the principles of Positive Psychology, Sociometry and Psychodrama, we will explore specific, effective techniques for helping addicted families traverse the path of healing, and shift from post-traumatic stress to posttraumatic growth.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
a. Participants will learn the 5 aspects of Post-Traumatic Growth
b. Participants will be able to name 2 Sociometric techniques that can support Post- Traumatic Growth.
c. Participants will be able to identify 1 Psychodramatic technique that can support Post- Traumatic Growth.
