This 3-day Advanced Sociometry Training Workshop is designed for those who have experience facilitating sociometry, and who are looking to deepen their skills and take their sociometric practice to the next level.

Participants will learn specific techniques to help shift the sociometry of a group, couple, family or organization, through interventions and techniques designed to help address issues such as:

Conflict in group
Bringing in isolates
Cleavages and cliques
Addressing and clearing transferences
Role fatigue
Sociostasis (stuck sociometry)

Together we will create a safe and supportive environment and participants will leave this training with a stronger set of skills to address even the most challenging sociometric dynamics.

Course meets the qualifications for a total of 19.5 hours (per weekend) of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. CAMFT approved CE Provider # 123417. Provider approved by CCAPP-EI, Provider Number 2N-10-135-0220 for 19.5 CEH’S (per weekend).  Approved for 19.5 CEHs for CET and Psychodrama.

EDUCATIONAL GOALS:

Participants will be educated on a variety of situations that result in sociostasis (stuck sociometry).
Participants will be educated on the use of sociometric interventions to address sociostasis, including spectrograms, locograms, step-in-sociometry, action sociograms and target sociograms.
Participants will be educated on the use of action sociograms to address transference in their clinical work.
Participants will be educated on a variety of situations that could warrant utilzing group sociograms to address sociostasis.
Participants will be educated on the use of criterion questions to allow different protagonists to be selected.
Participants will be educated on the use of the classical encounter, and the appropriate situations in which to use it clinically.
Participants will be educated on the 4 types of protagonist selection, and criteria to use for each selection.
Participants will be educated on telic sociometric questions vs. transferential ones.
Participants will be educated on when to include themselves as director as a sociometric choice and when not to.
