In this Action Intervention Training Workshop, participants will learn specific, effective techniques for lowering anxiety and warming up families to change.
When attending an intervention or a family program, addicted family systems are locked into unhealthy roles and behaviors and struggle with the idea of doing things differently. Therefore, it’s crucial to utilize methods to help lower anxiety and warm them up to change. In this didactic and experiential Action Intervention Training™ workshop, we will demonstrate the benefits of treating the entire family system, and how sociometry and psychodrama can motivate the family towards recovery.
We will work with a “mock” addicted family to demonstrate all of the techniques we use so that participants will be able to see their effectiveness in real time. Throughout the weekend, we will demonstrate step-by-step solutions to dealing with the “resistance” that families and addicts present with. In addition, participants will leave the workshop with a workbook with a “cheat sheet” outlining the process and instructions on each technique utilized.
